Police Intercepts 26 Stolen Vehicles

OGUN STATE: The new Zonal Intervention Squad inaugurated seven weeks ago by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Abdulmajid Ali, has intercepted 26 stolen vehicles reports punch.
Also, the ZIS operatives arrested nine suspects and recovered 17 locally-manufactured “automobile master keys” which the suspects used to open different types of vehicles.
Ali stated this on Wednesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during the inauguration of the ZIS’ office complex and tactical training ground at the Obada-Oko end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.
The AIG said he established the ZIS to serve as a buffer force and to assist security operatives in Ogun and Lagos commands.
Ali said, “The establishment of the ZIS, which comprised personnel from the Special Anti-Robbery Squads from Lagos and Ogun police commands will also enable police to quickly respond to distress calls.”
Ali, who expressed the readiness of the police at keeping crimes out of the zone, added that the ZIS tactical training facility was equipped with state-of-the-art security equipment.

The AIG assured residents that the force would not fail to enforce laws and policies made by the governments of Ogun and Lagos states for adequate security of lives and property.
