Dr Sam Amadi
The National Assembly must key into change
agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari to provide credible and effective
legislative framework for attainment of the agenda, Dr Sam Amadi has said.
Delivering a paper at a workshop for senior
legislative aides in the National Assembly, organised by the National Institute
for Legislative Studies (NILS), Amadi said that the legislature should provide
politically accountable and responsive legislation that could make the agenda a
success.
Amadi, a former chairman of the Nigeria
Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), urged the lawmakers to make laws that
would grow the economy and create wealth.
Declaring the workshop open, the Secretary of
the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), Mrs Mary Ibikunle, said that
the workshop was aimed at enhancing the legislative aides’ understanding of
lawmaking process and capacity to conduct research.
