Coming fresh off the heels of MTN Nigeria’s
nationwide roll-out barely a week ago, Globacom (Glo) has just launched its 4G
LTE services for all subscribers in Nigeria.
This makes Glo only the third mobile network
in Nigeria to activate 4G LTE, after nTel and MTN.
The announcement was made via the telco’s
official Twitter account earlier this afternoon. Glo 4G LTE data plans range from as low as
₦500, for 1.6GB (1 week) to as high as ₦18,000, for 90GB (30 days)
So far these are the most competitive prices
yet for mobile 4G LTE in Nigeria; quite consistent with the telco’s usually
affordable pricing for 3G data plans. The data wars are very much alive — a
little birdie tells us Etisalat will also be upgrading its artillery very soon.
