Chelsea were poor
throughout the 2015/2016 season both in Europe and domestically. A take a look at some players who may be leaving the club this season
1. Nemanja Matic: Despite starring as Chelsea won the league title
two years ago, Matic needs to leave the club. As things stand Cesc Fabregas,
Oscar, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek seem to be ahead of him. Juventus and PSG have
been linked while Zinedane Zidane says Real Madrid would have bought him if the
club did not have so many options in midfield.
2. Pedro Rodriguez: Pedro has bags of talent, his days at Barcelona and period under Pep Guardiola shows
that. But Since his 21.4 million pounds move to the Stamford bridge, the pacy Attcker has been under performing and this has earned him lack of consistent
game time and recurring injuries. Pedro should consider another club or improve his form if he wants to make impact at Stamford bridge especially now that William, Moses, are in their best form.
3. John Mikel Obi: Like Matic, Fabregas, Oscar, N’Golo Kante, seem to be
ahead of him in Conte’s two man midfield. He is Chelsea’s longest serving
player after John Terry but its now open secret he needs to leave. He has already said he will stay if Conte
wishes him to but the manager’s pursuit of targets does not bode well.
4. Loic Remy: Already linked with Crystal
Palace, the striker once tipped to become better than Thierry Henry, has always
been behind Diego Costa and with the arrival of Michy Batshuayi, his time looks
up. He is a quality striker who would be a huge
plus for a mid-table club. Chelsea were interested in Everton’s Lukaku and this
writer reckons Remy could be used to make the deal more suitable for all. A
club like Hull City, need a better striker than Abel Hernandez and the Tigers
could be an attractive option.
5. Every young player on loan: Yea, we know
we said FIVE players but really lots of loaned out players need to permanently
leave the club. To mention a few, the following players are out on loan; Nathan
Ake, Baba Rahman, Wallace, Lewis Baker, Bertrand Traore, Isaiah Brown, Andreas
Christensen. This players have little or no chance to break into the first
team. History suggests Chelsea will spend big in the market again and these
young player need consistent game time to develop their skills.
