Reporter: Sir, Pls
can you introduce yourself to me?
Mr Joseph: My name is Joseph Tobi Okediji, A Batch B corps member serving in
GBBSS GIREI, I'm the President of Education CDS Group Girei L.G.A and also the
Corps Liaison Officer (CLO) of NYSC Girei Secretariat i am from Oyo state
Reporter: What was your reaction when
you learnt that you
have been posted to Adamawa state?
Mr Joseph: Sincerely
when i learnt i was posted to Adamawa state i wasn't perturbed until when i got
to the gate of my school (PPA) i felt like crying, because i was trying to
imagine what it would be like living in a remote area for the next one year.
However i choose to discover why God sent me to Adamawa state.. Which i discovered,
practically it was worth doing
Reporter: What
prompted you to undertake these projects?
Mr Joseph: Apparently,
I have a Philosophy i go with, “That is making
impact wherever i find myself” After my first
3 weeks of stay in my PPA. I realized pressing issues
and needs that
needed urgent solutions, which where
the Library and the proximity of water to students dormitories. Having
identified these
areas, i decided to proffer
solutions to these needs.
Reporter: What
were the constraints u encountered on the course of
executing these projects?
Mr Joseph: Obviously
nothing good comes easy. A lot of constraints,
trying to convince people that you are for real Citing a
scenario where someone was not
convinced about the authenticity of my project demanding he speaks to the state
coordinator NYSC, I had to go locate the state coordinator NYSC to speak with
him and convince him. After that guess how much he gave me? #5,000. After all the stress he made me go
through. However my God and passion to succeed kept me going.
Reporter: What
do u want to achieve with this your magnanimity?
Mr Joseph: The fulfilment
of been successful in this project has exposed me to the corporate world, more so meeting with captains of industry as
well as stakeholders in the state..
Reporter: What
words do you have for other corps members
Mr Joseph: We
are in a system that defines you by your certificate, However that system also
values great minds and excellence driven individuals. So
learn all you can about what you love and i bet you life will be easier than
you think. Thank you
Reporter: Thank you for yor time
Mr Joseph: You are welcome
