Life is a mystery embedded with smiles and
pain, cries and joy, battles and victories, and filled with uncertainties. Life
comes with BLOWS and BLESSINGS. Most times, blows come first before blessing
just in accordance with the biblical exhortation of St Paul’s "If anyone
will not work, neither let him eat."
These obstacles (blows) are better
experienced early in life in order to serve as a preparation for the blessings
that would follow. But most often, out of our desperation, we so much desire
and work to thwart this natural order thereby landing ourselves into so many
problems.
According to Pastor Sam Adeyemi “experience
is not the good teacher if you are the one narrating the story rather it will
be a teacher if you listen to someone else's story by applying it to yourself
in preventing errors”.
Just as men are in different shapes and
sizes, so the blows of life are in
different shapes and sizes
opine Bishop David Oyedepo. Everyone in life receive blows daily, weekly, monthly
or yearly according to his/her
capacity and strength. God doesn’t give you what is beyond you; rather he gives
all men blows according to his capacity knowing full well that “His grace is
enough for us”.
For one to succeed, one has to be prepared through the chisiling out of
all the rough edges, the blows of life serve as a chisle that removes the
unwanted edges in our life. The reception
of these blows is the natural law of life!.
Do not be decieved by a little
progress made because the blows of life is a continuos process but the
beautiful thing about life is that for those who put their trust in God would
not only be like mount zion that can never be moved but will always be
victorious, in other words, expect more blows from
every nook and cranny.
It is only the saint that receives much
blows than sinners, it
is the faithful that receives higher blows than the unfaithful. It is those
that stand firm
and balance well in Christ Jesus that receive gigantic blows from every angle
than those who live a hypocritical life.
These blows and blessings go hand in hand, if it comes, how would you stand? It is how far you stand
firm when receiveing
these blows that counts, not how long because God gives us the blows to prepare us
for the greater blessings that would follow.
God made David to meet Goliath for him to be
a champion because in every Goliath, there is a Stone. When life throws you
blows, then
throw back a stone which is JESUS. Remember, those to guide
you in your journey of life may not be angels, rather they may be like
portiphar'wife. The biblical Joseph received greater
blows from his brethren and if Joseph had slept with portiphar'wife her, he wouldn't have succeed. Therefore the
blows of life is a real McCoy,
stay connected with God to overcome.
It is during blow time of your life that
you discover your strengths
and get to see the true colours of people who claim they care for you. Ask biblical Job about it, he would tell you more. If David had run away from the lion and
the bear forsaking that innocent and immaculate lamb, he wouldn't have overcome
Goliath by becoming a champion. It
is what you overcome in your privacy that determines your victory in the public. If you consider yourself
as a weak person in facing these blows, then throw yourself into
the arms of God. Some
people need to face real blows of life before God can capture their attention
because he knows exactly what will lead man away from his presences, so deal
with it.
The blow of an eagle is the storm but finds
joy in diving into the storm and overcome it. Despite how strong Samson
was, he
had been overcoming different blows but those blows came back and dealt with
his weakness. One
greatest way to overcome your weaknesses
is to admit that you are weak. Every
blow has big punches as that of Goliath but you can use your little tongue filled with the word of God to
overcome it.
Do you want to be an egg or a carrot? When an egg is placed on
boiling water, it
becomes very hard inside but when you place a carrot on that same boiling
water, it becomes very soft totally. That boiling water is the blows it either
softens you or gets you hardened.
Diamond has an attractive looks, we crave for it, love it and cherish the
beauty. It
becomes expensive when the beauty shines but forgotten that diamond receives
enough blows inside the furnance before
it starts shinning. Steve
Ferar in his book POINT MAN says “many times in the life, we find ourselves not
understanding why God has allowed us to face hard situation. But if you wait
patiently for a few years
and write your life backwards as the Hebrew letters, you can often see his good
plan. Happy Sunday
