The immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday gave reasons why he visited President Muhammadu Buahri at the Presidential villa, Abuja.
Jonathan had earlier met with the President behind closed doors at the villa.
Addressing State House Correspondents after the meeting which lasted for 20 minutes, the former president said the meeting afforded him the opportunity to brief the President on his recent international engagement and those in the future.
Jonathan, however, refused to answer questions on the current administration’s anti-corruption war.
On the renewed violence in the Niger Delta, Jonathan said it was appropriate for him and traditional rulers in the area to mediate in the matter.
