Police in Ebonyi Kills Two Robbers, Injures Others



The men of Nigeria police force Ebonyi State Police Command has recorded another success in their quest to keep the society free from robbery.

On Monday Police operatives killed two suspected armed robbers in a gun duel.

The command stated that the that the victims were members of a gang of notorious Armed robbers  that had been terrorising motorists along the Afikpo-Okigwe Highway.

The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP George Okafor, disclosed this at the command headquarters in Abakaliki.

According to a report by Punch, He said, “The command received information that a six-man armed robbery gang blocked part of the Afikpo-Okigwe Highway in a bid to rob road users.

“Policemen quickly moved to the scene and engaged them in a gun battle.”

The PPRO said while two of the robbers were gunned down, four of them escaped with varying degree of bullet injuries.


Okafor added that a Toyota bus, a Volkswagen car, one AK-47 rifle, five magazines and 20 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the robbers.
