Ondo Guber! APC Inaugurates Campaign Council, Deploys 8 Govs, 9 Ministers



Ahead of the November 26, Governorship election in Ondo state, The All progressive Congress has (APC) yesterday inaugurated a 49-man  team to execute its governorship campaign in Ondo State.

The campaign council which is tagged “The Ondo State 2016 Governorship Election National Campaign Council”  is headed by Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, and has Senator Tayo Alasoadura as Secretary.

Other Members of the campaign council include governors of Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Lagos, Kano, Kebbi, Bauchi, and Sokoto as well as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Lasun.
The nine ministers on the team include Dr Kayode Fayemi (Mines and Steel), Prof. Claudius Daramola (state, Niger Delta), Mr Babatunde Fashola (Works, Power and Housing), Pastor Usani U. Usani (Niger Delta), Prof. Isaac Adewole (Health), Barrister Adebayo Shittu (Communication), Mrs Kemi Adeosun (Finance), Alhaji Lai Mohammed (Information, Culture and Tourism), and Dr Chris Ngige (Labour and Productivity).
Other members on the  Campaign Team are the APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Engr. Segun Oni, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, Senator Robert Boroffice, Senator Olorunmbe Mamora, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Isaac Kekemeke (state APC Chairman), Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu (governorship candidate), Alhaji Ali Olanusi (ex-deputy governor), Hadiza Bala Usman, and retired colonel Hameed Ali among others.

Inaugurating the Campaign Council, the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said the election would be a tough and difficult contest because of what he described as “special circumstances”, but voiced optimism that the party would win.
Odigie-Oyegun also expressed hope that the “strong team would unite the warring parties, deliver Ondo State from the PDP bondages and take them to the progressive party like the APC.”
Akeredolu, who is the governorship candidate, on his part  admitted that the party was facing a big challenge, but hoped that the team would bring unity into the party.
