Enugu Police Command Commissions New Stations To Curb Herdsmen Attack

In an attemot to forestall recurring clashes between farmers and herdsmen in Enugu state, Enugu State Police Command has commissioned three new stations at Neke-Uno, Ogbeke and Amaokpo communities all in Enugu East Local Government Area. Police said the move was to further strengthen the people’s confidence in the police, even as it called for adequate information from the people to enable them act proactively.
Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ojukwu, while commissioning the stations, said: “We are bent on taking police to the communities for effective partnership and service delivery. This has become imperatives to nip the incessant herdsmen and farmers clashes in the bud.
“The communities should support police to ensure that there is improved safety and security in their communities, especially along Ugwuogo-Opi Nsukka Road and to attract development to communities.”
Recall that recently, herdsmen invaded a community in Enugu where they were said t kill a senior seminarian of the catholic church, pregnant women and leaving others seriously injured.
