I don’t know what happened to my players – Siasia

The Arena  Corinthians was at its bustling   best when the Nigeria U-23 Olympic team took on their German counterparts in the semifinal of the Rio 2016 Olympics football event. Siasia Already, news had gone round that hosts, Brazil had beaten Honduras 6-0 in the first semifinal and Brazilians who are yet to forgive Germany over the 7-1 loss their national team suffered in the hands of the Germans in the World Cup

turned out in their thousands in support of the Nigerian team. Coach Samson Siasia was miffed after the match as he slammed his players for some of the unpardonable mistakes they made during the match. “I don’t really know what happened to my players today (Wednesday). The had begging chances but could not score. “Too many mistakes, faulty passes and you don’t pass the ball to your opponents and expect to win. In a  competition, if you don’t win you are sent home,” Siasia said after the match. H said focus will now be on the third place match. “We are going to face it with all seriousness because it is better to go home with a bronze than nothing at all. We will go for it.”
