If
you think as a state Governor you can do anything you like, then you need to
rethink. As Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state marked his 1year in office, he
has been given strong warning and ultimatum by Senator Dino Melaye and other
APC leaders in the state to clear the backlog of salaries owed workers across
the state or he will find it hot with
them. Could this be another political war
brewing in Kogi state? Watch this video

WHO CURSED SOUTHERNERS? By Cyril Emetoh.
Editor’s Note: The opinion expressed in this
article is purely that of the writer.
In this Nigeria, an average Southerner is a
weakling. A born coward with serious complex issues, A fool and an idiot. A
slave, a typical example of
a butterfly who thinks himself a bird. But this is not even the problem. The
biggest problem is, he doesn't even realise he is any of those things.
The only thing an average Southerner is
good at is blowing high sounding grammar and acquiring degrees upon degrees but
when it comes to things that matter most, he goes to slumber.
An average Southerner has this twisted
mindset that the best way to be seen as a patriotic and detribalised Nigerian
is by degrading, shaming and disparaging his own tribe for no just cause.
Abacha stole this country blind, such that
20 years after, his loot is still being returned to the country. But in spite
of this, people like Buhari publicly swore that he (Abacha) stole nothing. But
to an average Southern idiot, Jonathan's 5 year rule is the reason we have no
fuel, no light, no good educational system, no nothing! Jonathan is the worst
thief in Nigeria history. IBB, Abdulsalam and even Buhari who was accused of
stealing billions of dollars as PTF boss were all saints. Why? Because they are
Northerners.
Was it not a southern he goat named
Obasanjo who publicly accused Jonathan of training snipers in Pyongyang (North
Korea) ahead of last year's election?? He made the unfounded allegation just to
please his masters up north. Now that we have the highest figure of senseless
death of civilian in the hands of both state and non state actors under a
Northern president Buhari, have you read any letter from the daughter-in-law
fucking pastor OBJ??
When Shiites were massacred in Zaria, it
took less than 48 hours for Chidi Odinkalu of the National Human Right
Commission to establish a commission of inquiry and summon the army chief but
when unarmed IPOB members praying in a school field in Aba were murdered by the
security agents, did you hear even a loosely worded condemnation from Chidi
Odinkalu??
Check out the list of those asking that
Fayose be tried for treason for writing to the Chinese govt over Buhari's $2
loan, they are 80% southerners. And most of them have not even read the said
Fayose letter at least to know the reasons Fayose adduced in the said letter.
These are the same fools who kept mum when Sango Abdullahi, Sani Kaita and some
so called Northern elders publicly threatened to make the country ungovernable
if power wasn't returned to the North. When Buhari made his 'dogs and baboon
speech and directly caused the death of southern youth corpers, these morons
kept mum.
With all the numberless killing of
civilians under this regime and its open support for the genocide the world
fourth deadliest terror group (the Fulani militant) has continue to visit on
Nigerians, have these highly educated southerners bothered to write a strongly
worded petition to the ICC just like Nyako, El-rufai and other northerners did
to Jonathan??
These southern bastards will gleefully yell
'Kanu should rot in jail, he was preaching hate on radio Biafra!' But these
clowns maintained sealed lips over the hateful and inciting broadcast by 'Radio
Chanji' and Arewa Radio upNorth. Such is the degree of the soulless hypocrisy
of these southern dickheads.
These nitwits were on rooftops telling us
how incompetent and corrupt Jonathan was and how his removal was a patriotic
duty. Today, things have all gone worse under Buhari and you would think that
these southern imbeciles would be at the forefront calling for Buhari's
resignation but no! They are the ones defending the daura born ex-soldier even
against thesame things for which they crucified Jonathan then.
Now I know why Jonathan appeared weak as
president and spent his 5 year term trying to please the North.
He knew he had nobody behind him. He knew that
we Southerners are weaklings only good at blowing high sounding but empty
grammar.
These 'efulefu' southerners will never
question why Buhari has never condemned the murderous activities of his fulani
kinsmen but these same 'anumpamas' will read this post and quickly tag me a
bigot.
Slaves who think themselves masters!!

Buhari Did Not Clear SGF Of Corruption Allegation - Garba Shehu
The
Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity,
Garba Shehu, has denied the
allegation that President Muhammadu Buhari has cleared the Secretary to
the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal of corruption as widely
held.
The presidential spokesman stated this while featuring
on ‘Ra’ayi Riga’, a BBC Hausa audience participation programme, on Friday. The Presidential
spokesperson said Buhari only acted in response to the senate’s report which
indicted Lawal of fraudulent act.
Shehu
said the criticisms that have trailed the development were unwarranted “because
his letter to the senate did not dwell on whether the SGF was guilty or not
guilty.
“What
President Buhari has done is simply to act in a response to a report by the
SGF, Babachir David Lawal, who insisted that, he and the companies cited were
not given a fair hearing by the National Assembly.
“President
Buhari’s communication to Nigeria’s lawmakers was simply this: If the SGF was
not given a fair hearing, can you now give him one?”
Shehu
said inspite of Buhari’s strong stance on corruption, “he believes in due
process and in fair hearing, without which, our democracy cannot be taken
seriously by Nigerians or the international community.”
Recall
that the senate had recently called for Lawal’s arrest and prosecution,
following an Interim Report by its ad-hoc committee on mounting Humanitarian
crisis in the North East which indicted him of fraudulent act.
In
the report, the committee alleged that Lawal who is the Chairman of the
Presidential Initiative of the North East, PINE, awarded contracts to a company
liked to him.
However,
the President, in a letter to the senate rejected the call by the upper
legislative house, citing some infractions in the report.
Reacting
to the President’s letter, Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, who
heads the senate’s Ad-Hoc Committee, expressed disappointment at the
presidency’s response to the committee’s report.
Your Silence Is Destructive, CAN Lashes Out At Osibanjo
The
Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has lashed
out to the
acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to defend
Christians as he is in office to do so.
In
a statement issued by the special
assistant on media to the CAN president, Bayo Oladeji, the religious body said
the issues of the DSS trying to arrest Apostle John Suleman was a slap on the
faces on Christians and wondered why Osinbajo who is also a Christian and a pastor should keep quite in the face of evil
The statement Reads
“According to what we heard, they insisted on
remaining in the hotel until Apostle Johnson Suleman surrendered himself for
arrest. But for the timely intervention of the management of the hotel and
other well meaning Nigerians around, the invasion could have resulted into
bloodshed as the Minister of God was there with some MOPOL men and officers.
“Apostle Suleman has become a refugee in Ekiti state
as security operatives are said to be searching every nook and cranny of the
state with a view to arresting him.
“If there is an urgent need to interrogate Apostle
Suleman on any issue, it would only have been proper to extend a formal or
informal invitation to him from the DSS rather than Gestapo approach used in
the attempt to arrest him.
“It should be noted that under Nigerian Laws, he is
presumed innocent until a court of law proves otherwise. Or have they extended
the proposed obnoxious law that forbids religious preaching without the
permission of the state governor down south too?
“Treating Ministers of God and our members as common
criminals is unacceptable to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Enough is enough.
“Despite all the promises made by Governor Nasir
el-Rufai, none of those who were responsible for the killings of our members in
the Southern Kaduna has been brought to book.
“Instead the Police have been releasing those who were
arrested for the killing of our members in Kano and Kubwa (Abuja) while our
leaders are being subjected to untold hardship for just no cause.
“It is high time the overzealous security agencies
knew that Nigeria remains a secular state and any attempt to turn the country
into a refugee camp for Christians will not be acceptable and will be resisted
with every lawful means.
“We call on the acting President, Professor Yemi
Osinbajo, to intervene in all the clampdown on the Church in Nigeria after all,
he is in the office primarily to represent the interest of the Christians and
his studied silence is no longer golden.
“The last time we checked, Sections 38 of the 1999
Constitution (as amended) it states clearly that every Nigerian is “entitled to
freedom of thought, conscience and religion, including freedom to change his
religion or belief, and freedom (either alone or in community with others, and
in public or in private) to manifest and propagate his religion or belief in
worship, teaching, practice and observance.”
For Beating An Innocent Person, See What Happened To This Masquerade
The law of Kama they say will definitely visit everybody one day. A Facebook user Chinedum Ambrose has narrated how he was beaten to stupor by a masquerade while studying for his WASSCE exams in front of his house sometimes around 2010, but today the young man that wore that masquerade has died in a controversial circumstance. Below is his post.

APC Has No Powers In River State Again- Governor Wike
Governor
of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has boasted that the All Progressives Congress
(APC) has been completely dislodged in the state.
He
said the vestiges of the APC were removed following the mass execution of key
projects across the state by his administration.
According
to THISDAY, Wike, stated this on tuesday while inaugurating the
Ozuoba-Rumuoparaeli-Choba road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the
state, said the APC no longer has a voice in the state because leaders of the
party are only involved in anti-people programmes.
He
lauded the Akpor people for giving him the traditional mandate to protect the
people of the state , pointing out that he would stand for the people at all
times.
Wike
said: “There is no more APC in Rivers State, we have used projects to dislodge
the party in the state.
“If
they don’t steer clear of Rivers State, we shall cut them off from the state.
Now that our people have given us the mandate to clear all the unwanted items.”
Speaking
further, Wike said: “All those that know, must not come close because my people
have given me the instrument to go to war against enemies of Rivers State.”
Commenting on the road, he said the Ozuoba-Rumuoparaeli-Choba road traverses
three communities and two wards.
He
said he had fulfilled the promises made to the people of the area, adding that
more projects will be executed in the area.
The
state Commissioner for Works, Mr. Iheanyichukwu Bathuel, noted that the
completion of the road hadimproved the value of property in the three
communities that the road serve.
The
spokesman of the Rumuokparali community, Sir Chris Abel, expressed the gratitude
of the people to Wike for fulfilling his campaign promise to them
Senate Leader Senator Ali Ndume Impeached As Senator Alhmed Lawan Takes Over His Post
In
a civilian equivalent of a coup d’ etat, the Senate tuesday removed Senator Ali
Ndume as leader replacing him with Senator Ahmad Lawan.
Senate
President Bukola Saraki announced the removal of Ndume shortly after the former
leader, who had led the day’s proceedings, left the Senate chamber for his
afternoon prayer at the National Assembly mosque.
On
his way out of the mosque, he was confronted with the news of his removal while
plenary had also been adjourned to wednesday, January 11. A visibly shocked
Ndume said it could not be true since he was not aware of any move to oust him.
His
removal was the last item handled by the Senate tuesday, an offshoot of a
letter addressed by APC Caucus to the Senate president, informing him of a
meeting it held on Monday, January 9 where it agreed to replace Ndume with
Lawan as its new leader.
In
the letter, entitled: “Notice of Change in Leadership,” APC senators said:
“This is to inform Your Excellency and the Senate that after several meetings
held on Monday, 9th of January, 2017, and upon due deliberation and
consultation, the APC Caucus of the Senate, hereby wishes to notify you of the
change in the leadership of the Senate – that the new Senate Leader is now
Senator Ahmad Lawan, representing Yobe North Senatorial District. Kindly accept
our esteem regards and best assurances.”
According
to THISDAY, Ndume was removed for two
main reasons. First, he was accused of bringing the Senate into disrepute
through series of behaviour and utterances, which senators considered as
embarrassing to the institution.
Prominent
of such perceived embarrassing acts, which eventually consumed him was the
interview he granted State House correspondents in the Presidential Villa on
December 19, 2016 where he debunked Senate’s earlier official position, which
had rejected the confirmation of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the substantive Chairman
of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) on December 15 last year.
Whereas
the Senate had announced on December 15 that, in view of the damning security
report against Magu, it had resolved in its closed-door session not to confirm
Magu as the EFCC’s boss.
According
to Senate’s spokesman, Senator Sabi Abdullahi, the Senate had consequently
rejected Magu and advised President Muhammadu Buhari to send another candidate
as his replacement.
However,
while the news of Magu’s rejection was yet generating controversy in the
polity, Ndume announced at the Presidential Villa that Magu had not been
rejected. He emphasised that Magu could not be rejected in a closed-door
session of the Senate where the decision was made.
Ndume
also dismissed Senate’s call for the resignation and prosecution of the
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir David Lawal,
over alleged mismanagement of internally displaced persons’ (IDPs) funds in the
North-east.
The
Senate, therefore, considered a situation where its leader whom it felt was
duty bound to protect the sanctity of its resolutions became the one allegedly
twisting it as embarrassing. This prompted Abdullahi to brief the press the
following day where he affirmed that Magu’s rejection was the Senate’s official
position and there was no going back on it.
Again,
Senate found Ndume’s removal this time to be appropriate in view of the recent
rapprochement between the Senate leadership, the APC and the Presidency.
Ndume
had emerged against the wish of the party, which had in June last year,
recommended the nomination of Lawan as Senate Leader following his loss to
Saraki in the race to the Senate Presidency on June 9, 2016.
But
instead of abiding by the party’s decision, Saraki announced Ndume as the
Senate Leader following his recommendation by the North-east caucus of APC to
which the office had been zoned. Saraki said he could not alter the decision of
his colleagues who had chosen Ndume for the office and rejected Lawan by 13 to
3 votes.
The
situation was seen by the party as an affront on it by Saraki whom it had
accused of first emerging as Senate president against its wish and later failed
to accede to its request to concede the Senate Leader’s office to Lawan. This
generated bad blood among him, the Presidency and party leadership.
Reacting
to his removal yesterday, Ndume expressed shock over the development, saying
there was no previous problem that could have warranted his ouster.
“I went out of the chamber to pray at about
quarter to 1pm. On my way coming, one of you accosted me that there was an
announcement on change of leadership. I didn’t know what actually happened. I
went to pray. When l came back, the Senate had adjourned and somebody told me
that Ahmad Lawan had been announced as the leader of APC caucus. I don’t know
what happened and what that meant. This morning, l still conducted the business
of the Senate. I’m not aware of any meeting called. There is a process to
follow. I will find out what that meant. Let me hear from the horse’s mouth,”
Ndume said.
It
was further learnt tuesday that following the decision to remove Ndume, Deputy
Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and the Chief Whip, Olusola Adeyeye, were
assigned to advise Ndume to resign ahead of the announcement but at the time
they wanted to tell him, he was nowhere to be found.

Mahrez Wins African Player Of The Year Award
The
Leicester City midfielder is recognised for his crucial part in one of the most
incredible sporting achievements in recent years, beating Pierre-Emerick
Aubameyang to the prize
Riyad
Mahrez has been announced as the African Player of the Year for 2016.
The
Algeria international midfielder is recognised after playing a pivotal role in
Leicester City's incredible march to the 2015-16 Premier League title.
He
beats Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who won in 2015, to
this year's prize.
Mahrez
had previously been named PFA Player of the Year for his exploits in
Leicester's phenomenal top-flight campaign, during which he scored 17 goals and
recorded 11 assists.
His
first half of the 2016-17 season has been less spectacular, with three goals
and two assists in the league but he has made a bigger impact in the Champions
League, netting four times in the club's first foray into the continental
competition.
The
Foxes star won 361 votes at the official CAF awards, edging in front of
Aubameyang's 313, while Liverpool forward Sadio Mane finished in third place
with 186 votes.
All
three men will now turn their attentions towards January's Africa Cup of
Nations, to be held in Aubameyang's native Gabon.
I Challenge You To Reveal Information On DSP’s Murder, Wike Dares Nigerian Police
Rivers
State Governor, Nyesom Wike has called on the Nigerian Police to inform the
world how and where the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was murdered
during the rerun legislative elections, instead of trying to cover obvious
facts.
The
governor also wondered why the police have refused to make public the
communication that an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former
Commissioner for Power, Mr. Augustine Kachi Nwokocha, had with the killers
before the DSP was murdered.
Wike
spoke yesterday when he granted audience to the management of Independent
Newspapers Limited at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
“The
police should let the world know where the DSP was killed? What is the polling
unit where he was killed? The former commissioner for power who was mentioned
by the killers, has he been questioned?

“Where
is the call log of that former commissioner as communicated with the killers?
Have they checked the discussions between the commissioner and the arrested
killers?
“They
know the truth, but they want to cover a lot of things. The Army announced that
they recovered the uniforms from the forest, was there a polling unit in the
forest?” the governor asked.
He
said the steps being taken to blackmail the state government would fail because
the Rivers people cannot be cowed.
He
appealed to newsmen to always defend the truth and speak out regularly.
“The
survival of democracy, to a large extent, depends on a vibrant media. Certain
things happening in the country must be made public by the media,” he said.
Gobe! Passengers Beat Arik Air Manager To Stupor For Flight Cancellation (Video)
The
Manager of Arik Air at Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Wednesday narrowly
escaped death when some passengers, who have booked flights with Arik Air, went
haywire over alleged termination of the flights.
In
a video, which went viral on the Internet on Thursday, the enraged passengers
descended on an official, said to be the customer service liaison manager of
the airline. He was identified simply as Andrew.
The
passengers shunned airport workers, who tried to prevail on them, beat up the
Arik official and demanded that their fares be refunded.
“I
don’t need any explanation. You cannot go anywhere. Give us our money back,” a
passenger said.
“Follow
am jor! Follow am (Follow him),” another aggrieved passenger exclaimed as the
manager made to escape from the crowd.
One
of them, who wore a white dress, went after the worker and pushed him down. The
passenger pummeled him before he was rescued by his co-workers, who took him
into an office at the airport.
According
to PUNCH, the passenger had had his flight from Lagos to Johannesburg, South
Africa, cancelled on three consecutive occasions without any explanation by the
airline.
Another
protester said, “You are mad! How do we get our money?”
The
Arik Air in a statement by its spokesperson, Ola Adebanji, said the change in flight schedule was due to
shortage of aviation fuel.
“On
Wednesday, January 4, our Lagos-New York JFK service which was to operate at
11.30 pm had to be rescheduled by 24 hours to operate at 11.30 pm on Thursday,
January 5, due to the shortage in supply of aviation fuel. Our
Lagos-Johannesburg service and Lagos- Accra service were also on ground
awaiting fuel while the Lagos-New York service was standing by for fuel.
“When
our Customer Service Manager at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport,
Lagos, approached the passengers to explain the situation to them, one of the
passengers attacked him. This was followed by a mob of passengers who brutally
beat up the Arik Air worker.

“Arik
Air strongly condemns the increasing number of attacks on our staff and
property in the recent months.”
Why We Raided Jonathan's House - Police (Video)
On
Wednesday, the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force were said to have raided
the house of Dame Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck
Jonathan, in Abuja, with the aim of uncovering huge foreign currencies
allegedly kept in the building,
According
to Punch, the security personnel raided the house on a tip-off that huge
amount, allegedly believed to be stolen government money, was kept in the
building located at Igbeti Rock, Maitama, Abuja.
The
operation, which was carried out by operatives of the Special Investigation
Panel, headed by a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Ali Amodu,
acted at the behest of the Federal Government Asset Recovery and Forfeiture
Committee.
It
was alledged that an informant had tipped the Federal Government about alleged
huge stolen cash hidden in the building and in three other different locations
in the Federal Capital Territory.
It
was learnt that the informant, who told the government about the cash in the
Maitama property, had hinted that the suspect planned to move the money
anytime.
Following
the intelligence report, the SIP operatives stormed the duplex on Wednesday,
but did not find any cash.
A
source explained that the police did not know that the building belonged to
Jonathan until she identified herself as a former First Lady to the team
leader, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Adebo Williams, on the telephone.
The
source stated, “At the house, the security men said the house belonged to one
Jaga, a Rivers State indigene, and the team leader was directed to call the
owner.
“The
security man gave the phone to the team leader and she identified herself as
former First Lady.
“She
spoke in pidgin English and told the operatives to go and take whatever they
kept in the house. The team leader advised her to send her lawyer and she did.
The house was searched in the lawyer’s presence.”
It
was gathered that the team discovered that the first of the twin duplex had not
been inhabited for a long time.
The
men, it was learnt, found some company documents, three Diamond bank accounts cheque
leaves, which were taken away for further investigations.
A
source said, “The second duplex was also filled with cobwebs and contained four
big security safes. All the four security safes were met opened and in clean
condition, indicating that they have been in use.
A
senior officer stated that a bulletproof Porsche jeep and a BMW car were found
locked up in the garage.

In
his reaction, Patience Jonathan’s lawyer, Mr. Charles Ogboli, described the
allegations by the police that they had information of huge foreign currencies
deposited in the house as unfounded.
He
argued that the raid was a malicious persecution of the former first lady,
adding that there was no huge safe in the family house.
He
explained that the search conducted on Mrs. Jonathan’s house without her
presence meant that the police intended to do something else other than
searching the building.
Ogboli,
who spoke with one of our correspondents on the telephone, also dismissed the
claim that a huge amount of cash was moved out of the house before the police
arrived at the building to conduct the search.
He
said, “I wonder what they (police) want to gain from all these. In their
report, they said no incriminating document or whatever was found there. You
should understand that this is not the first time that premises were raided.
Both EFCC and NDLEA found nothing.
“What
is even the interest of the NDLEA in a matter that concerns money? They said
they got information that there was a huge amount of money in the house. Are
they saying that within the period of time they came, the money disappeared
within an interval of 30 minutes?
“As
a matter of fact, the siblings of the former first lady are no longer staying there.
They have moved to Port Harcourt for more than a year now. So, there is nothing
they (police) can allege that is found and that means they intended to do
something else.
“There
is no such information that there is a huge safe and that they saw bulletproof
cars. That you find a car in a place and saw a huge safe are trivial issues
because these are human beings that were living good ever before the husband
became a public officer.
“Madam
(Patience) did not give them the authority to go ahead with that search.”
