ISLAMIC MOVEMENT TO FG: GET READY IF...

El-Zakzaky

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, known as Nigeria Shiite, Wednesday, warned of dire consequences should its leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, who has been in detention, dies or goes blind in custody.
Vangyard reports that In a statement by its spokesman, Ibrahim Musa, in Kaduna today, The reads in part:
“We demand that our leader and his wife be released unconditionally without delay. It will be a tragedy of monumental proportions should our leader go blind in detention or suffer further physical disability due to him being denied access to adequate medical attention.
“We understand those that sanctioned his detention and those detaining him want to humiliate him and make sure that he goes completely blind before he is eventually released, thereby rendering him powerless the moment he is released from unconstitutional and illegal detention.
“The health of our leader and the wife continues to deteriorate on a daily basis and those holding him in custody are playing politics with his detention and that of his wife.
“We urge the Nigerian people and the international community to intervene in this crude violation of the fundamental rights of our leader.”
“The Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, wants to make it clear that the said Sadau Garba and Bello Ibrahim can only be solicitors to the Department of State Services, DSS, with who they are in constant contact, and not that of the Movement or our revered leader.
“It is DSS that briefed the two, giving them access to their facilities, encouraging them to pose as solicitors to our revered leader and urging them to write letters begging DSS to release our leader on compassionate grounds.
“The Islamic Movement in Nigeria, therefore, makes it abundantly clear that Femi Falana (SAN) is the leader of the legal team and assisted by Festus Okoye (Esq.) and Maxwell Kyon (Esq.).”

HERDSMEN ATTACK: FAYOSE HAS SHOWN THE WAY- GANI ADAMS

Gani Adams

The national coordinator of the OPC, Gani Adams has described anti-grazing bill signed into law by Ekiti governor as highly commendable – Gani Adams the leader of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) said the law is a good step in the right direction and should be applauded by all right-thinking people across the country .
Speaking with Naij.com, Mr Adams said; “Going by the wicked records of Fulani herdsmen who have turned the clean and clear rivers of their host communities in the southwest area of the country into rivers that flow with human blood, the action of Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose and the state House of Assembly to pass the anti-grazing bill in the state is highly commendable.” Speaking further, he added that the bill, which prevents herdsmen from carrying weapons is indeed a good step in the right direction and should be applauded by all right-thinking people across the country “It is no longer news that the herdsmen have been acting with impunity in communities across the southwest. They have killed, robbed and raped hapless citizens without any action taken against them by the security agencies.
This seeming sense of insecurity and helplessness by the people is a dangerous trend that portends danger for the peaceful coexistence of Nigerians. “These days, not a day passes without a fresh news about the dastardly activities of these men breaking. From the killing in Enugu, to Kaduna and other parts of the country, it is the same sad story every day. “Ekiti State has set the pace and showed us how to stop the senseless killings. I want to implore other state governors, especially in the southwest, to follow this laudable example and pass similar law that will restrict these herdsmen from their wicked and evil actions. We all must remember that cattle business is a private business with private interest. “Therefore, it should not be made to look to enjoy any special favour by the government. The carrying and use of automatic weapons by herdsmen should be outlawed and Ekiti State has shown the way. Also, leading the praise-singers is former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, who believes Fayose and the people of Ekiti state have taken the right step to stop rampaging Fulani herdsmen.

I CANNOT TREAT NIGERIANS EQUALLY: BUHARI FULFILLS NEGATIVE PROMISE

Sometimes last year on a state visit to United States of America, a female white journalist asked President Buhari how he intended to deal with issues in the Niger Delta, particularly Amnesty, bunkering and inclusive development, the president said;.
“(Going by election results), constituencies that gave me 97% can not in all honesty be treated, on some issues, with constituencies that gave me 5%. I think these are political realities. While, certainly there will be justice for everybody but the people who voted, and made their votes count, they must feel the government has appreciated the effort they put in putting the government in place. I think this is really fair….”

The distribution of capital projects in the 2016 budget mirrors President Muhammad's electoral victory of 2015. I actually thought he was joking about the 97%-5%, but hey, you can't argue with facts. Thank you Channels Television for this expose.

DANGER! CATHOLIC PRIEST BEATEN TO COMA

A tragic incident took place yesterday as Youths of Obubo community in Anambra State attacked a Priest, Rev. Father Fidelis Ifeanyichukwu Ugozo of the St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Ugbenu, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, beating him to a state of coma.
The rampaging youths led by their leader, Gabriel Ikegbunam are said to be Idol worshipers.
According to Anambra Broadcasting Service, (ABS),the priest and some of his followers were carrying out a rosary procession around some of the villages when they were stopped by one of the youth leaders in the village, Gabriel Ikegbunam, who felt the clergy man and his followers were out to burn down their deity.
Mr. Ikegbunem insisted that they will not enter his village, and when they overpowered him, he started making contacts, calling some youths from the village to attack the priest and others who were mainly women and children.
The Catholic priest who was severely beaten and stabbed in the face was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Ebenebe after the attack but was later transferred to St. Joseph’s hospital, Adazi Ani by the Ebenebe Deanery Chaplain.
A former catechist at St. Raphael’s parish Ugbenu, Cletus Nwankwo, said Obubo village is known
for adulterous acts, adding that the youths suspected that the Rosary procession was aimed at destroying their deity shrine.

“They moved from Agueke village to Obiagu and decided to branch at Obubo before Ikegbunam blocked them and in the process, he called some of them and told them that Catholics are coming to burn their shrine. Soon the youths trooped out, wielding dangerous weapons such as axe, gun and machetes.
“They grabbed the Blessed Sacrament from our Parish Priest, hit it on the floor and used the Monstrance to hit our Parish priest on his hand before stabbing him on the face and other parts of the body” he said.
The Traditional ruler of Ugbenu town, Igwe Lawrence Egwuonu, while speaking to newsmen said his wife, Lolo Egwuonwu was also beaten by the youths, stating that Gabriel Ikegbunam, Israel Egwu and two others stormed his palace before the incident occurred to complain that their shrine and other sacred symbols were burnt by Christians.
“After investigation, I discovered that they were all liars. None of their shrines were burnt and I can defend it anywhere.
“It was Ikegbunam that incited others to attack the priest and other Christians.
“Their greatest mistake was touching the priest and destroying the Blessed Sacrament. It is a sacrilege and they will pay for it,” he said.
Two amongst the rampaging youths, Anthony Anigbogu and Humphrey Ekwenye, have been reprimanded and are currently in the custody of the State CID, Awka, while other accomplices are still at large.

Breaking! Oil Pipeline Blown up Again by Militants

Militants have reportedly blown up an oil pipeline belonging to Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, and Shorelines Petroleum Nigeria in Delta State. Daily post reports that blown up a pipeline is a major delivery line for NPDC, and was blown up at 3.am on Tuesday, despite the ongoing military drill in the Niger Delta region code-named, “Operation Crocodile Smile.”
A statement by Niger Delta Greenland Justice Movement, NDGJM, the group’s leader, “Gen” Aldo Agbalaja, said the attack was carried out by its Uproot Team B, adding that it was also launching “Operation Crocodile Tears” in response to the military’s “Operation Crocodile Smile.”
The militant group also warned of an “impending bloodbath” in the Niger Delta region, stressing that it can no longer “sit quietly” and watch its people killed and harassed by the military.

NDGJM told indigenes of the oil-rich region to hold President Muhammadu Buhari responsible for the impending “bloodbath”. The statement reads in part
“To this end, we are alerting all those working in the UQCC/UPS Erhomukokwarien in Ughelli, Eriemu Pigging Manifold in Agbarha, Otorogun Gas Plant, Olomoro Flow Station, Warri Refinery, Port Harcourt Refinery, Eleme, OB-OB and Obite gas plants in Omoku to evacuate because what is coming to those facilities are beyond what anybody has seen before.
“The world should, however, note that the bloodbath that is about to commence in our already beaten, battered, squeezed and impoverished homeland, the Niger Delta. It is all the baby of the Nigerian government; they are the people, who are in one breath preaching resolution through dialogue and also breathing bullets and bombs on a troubled, but trusting people.
“Hold the Nigerian President responsible for the genocide that his armed forces is about to unleash on our people.”

WHO IS A MAN?

Saw this write up Some where and it got my attention. Is this true?

A man is the most beautiful part of God's creation.

He sacrifices his chocolates for his sister.

He sacrifices his dreams for just a smile on his parents' face.

He spends his entire pocket money on buying gifts for the lady he loves, just to see her smiling.

He sacrifices his full youth for his wife & children by working late at night without any complaint.

He builds their future by taking loans from banks & repaying them for his entire lifetime.

He struggles a lot & still has to bear scolding from his mother, wife and boss.

His life ends up only by compromising for others' happiness.

If he goes out, he's careless.

If he stays at home, he's a lazy.

If he scolds his children, he's a monster.

If he doesn't scold them, he's an irresponsible guy.

If he stops wife from working, then he's an insecure guy.

If he doesn't stop wife from working, then he's somebody who lives on wife's earnings.

If he listens to mom, he's mama's boy.

If he listens to his wife, he's wife's slave.

Respect every male in your life. You will never know what he has sacrificed for you.

Worth sending to every man to make him smile & every woman to make her realize his worth!

HAPPY MEN'S DAY!

CARDINAL OKOGIE TO BUHARI: NIGERIANS ARE HUNGRY

Dear  Mr. President :
Last year, when you assumed office, the chant of “Change,” your campaign slogan, ushered you into the Presidential Villa. Today, cries of “hunger” could be heard across the length and breadth of our vast country.
Nigerians hunger, not only for food, but also for good leadership, for peace, security, and justice. This letter is to appeal to you to do something fast, and, if you are already doing something, to redouble your effort.
May it not be written on the pages of history that Nigerians die of starvation under your watch. As President, you are the chief servant of the nation. I, therefore, urge you to live up to the huge expectation of millions of Nigerians. A stitch in time saves nine.
This is the second year of your administration.
You and your party promised to lead the masses to the Promised Land. It is not an easy task to lead. But by campaigning for this office, you offered to take the enormous task of leadership upon yourself. Nigerians are waiting for you to fulfill the promises you made during the campaign.
They voted you into office because of those promises. The introduction of town hall meetings is a commendable idea. But in practice, you, not just your ministers, must converse with Nigerians. You are the President. You must be accountable to them. The buck stops on your desk.
Even if your administration has no magic wand at least give some words of encouragement. On this same score, please instruct your ministers, and insist that they be sincere and polite at those town meetings. Their sophistry will neither serve you nor Nigerians.
Mr. President, if you want to leave a credible legacy come 2019, in all sincerity, please retool your administration. Change is desirable. But it must be a change for the better. Let this change be real. Change is not real when old things that we ought to discard refuse to pass away.
You will need to take a critical look at your cabinet, at the policies and programs of your administration, and at those who help you to formulate and execute them. You will need to take a critical look at the manner of appointments you have been making.
It is true that commonsense dictates that you appoint men and women you can trust. But if most of the people you trust are from one section of the country and practice the same religion, then you and all of us are living in insecurity. The Nigerian economy has never been in a state as terrible as this.
You as President are like the pilot of an aircraft flying in turbulence. Turbulent times bring the best or the worst out of a pilot. We can no longer blame the turbulence on past administrations. You know quite well that some of the officials of your administration served in previous dispensations.
Blame for what we have been experiencing is, in fact, bipartisan in character. The entire political class needs to come together, irrespective of party differences, to acknowledge its collective guilt and to seek ways of saving the sinking ship that our country has become.
This cannot be done if some officials of your administration demonize and alienate members of the opposition. If a large portion of the blame for the present situation is to be laid on the doorsteps of the entire political class, the search for a solution must involve everyone.
That is why no one should be alienated. All hands must be on deck. This is the time to revitalize moribund industries, reinvigorate our agriculture, make our country tourist and investor friendly, and enable our young men and women to find fulfillment by contributing to the common good.
None of these lofty goals can be achieved without good education. On this particular issue, recent appointments you have made in the education sector raise a question: have you really appointed the best? Still, on education, it is important that our universities be allowed to use their own criteria to admit students.
It is a gross violation of the principles of federalism and academic freedom for the federal government to insist that only a federal parastatal can decide on who gains admission into our universities. It is the role of the university senate, not of government bureaucrats, to decide on who gets admitted and who is awarded a certificate.
Mr. President, your desire to wage a war on corruption is just and noble. But a just war must be waged with just means. Those who have stolen the wealth of this country have broken the laws of our country. They must be treated according to the law and not outside the law, and the outcome of the judicial process must be respected by the government.
Even accused persons have rights. Where those rights are violated, we risk a descent to anarchy. It is our candid opinion that corruption is not found in only one party. No political party in Nigeria has a monopoly of looters. That is why we need an EFCC that is thoroughly independent of the presidency, and an Attorney General without party affiliation working in partnership with various independent accounting institutes.
This will ensure that we come up with an objective list of those who plundered our treasury. Mr. President, pardon me if I sound like a gratuitous counselor. I owe you the truth and nothing but the truth. In my life as a public figure and a religious leader, I have offered my counsel, for whatever its worth, to quite a number of Presidents in this country.
I do this because I desire that you succeed. For the success of the leader is the success of the citizens. If there is no solution to Nigeria’s problem, there may be endless war. You strike one town, you gain it, and you come again to regain it. Remember that you cannot put a crown on your head.
It is the people who put it on you. Otherwise one day, you will get tired of it. Please listen to the legitimate cries of your fellow citizens.
Cardinal Anthony Okogie, the emeritus Archbishop of Lagos, writes from Lagos.

SAMIR NASRI MOVES TO BESKITAS

                                                                               Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri is likely to leave Manchester City for Besiktas this week, despite Pep Guardiola’s insistence that he still has a role to play at the club.
Nasri was a surprise inclusion in the City squad for the 3-1 victory against West Ham on Sunday given he had not been involved in any previous matches this season and was left out of the Blues’ list of eligible players for the Champions League play-off round.
The Frenchman was introduced as a second-half substitute and came close to getting on the scoresheet on a couple of occasions, and Guardiola revealed after the match that he is willing to offer him a role in his squad.
“It depends on the player but he can play,” he said, echoing his previous statements about Joe Hart and Yaya Toure, among others. “Samir arrived overweight but after one week, 10 days, it was fantastic how he trained, how he competes.
“His quality is on another level but it depends on him. If [he] wants to help us, wants to stay, wants to be part of something, it depends on him, not me.”
But a Besiktas delegation will arrive in England on Monday and Nasri is expected to return to Turkey to seal a loan deal.
Nasri himself stated to the French media that a move is still possible. The former Arsenal man refused to give any interviews to the British press over what he believes was unfair reporting of his exclusion from first-team training.

NNAMDI KANU BETRAYED BIAFRA! - RE-IPOB

Nnamdi Kanu betrayed Biafra says newly formed pro-Biafra group Reformed Indigenous People of Biafra (RE-IPOB) – RE-IPOB says Nnamdi Kanu has been sacked – The new group says TRIPOB has also betrayed the Biafran struggle. The Reformed Indigenous People of Biafra (RE-IPOB), a newly formed pro-Biafra has said that the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has betrayed the Biafran people.

According to Naij.com, The group added that Kanu’s unguarded utterances led to the detention and death of innocent Biafran youths and accused him of not being sincere about the Biafran struggle and using the platform to attract fortune and fame to himself. “The emergence of TRIPOB is a fall out of the internal wrangling in the IPOB. Members and officers of IPOB loyal to one of the spokesmen of IPOB, Emma Nmezu, are behind TRIPOB. There is nothing actually different between IPOB and TRIPOB. This is why we wielded the big stick to sack them to save the Biafran struggle. We urge all pro-Biafra groups to remain calm and cease any contact with Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB or TRIPOB and await further information from RE-IPOB.” While reiterating its earlier promise to disclose the identities of their leaders on Monday, August 29th, 2016, the RE-IPOB spokesman added that names of their mediators to the expected dialogue with the federal government would also be made public. The group warned that the Biafran movement is not a platform for political shenanigans stressing that attempt to use TRIPOB to influence the federal government by a certain politician, would fail.

Ojika confirmed the incident, but said Boro did not give any transport fare as alleged by the ex-militants. The destruction comes a few days after Boro visited the state.
